At Precious British Purrs, we carefully monitor the development of our kittens and make sure they are ready to join their forever homes when they are around 12-14 weeks old. The decision of when a kitten is ready to be placed in a new home is at our discretion and is based on their overall health and maturity.

Your new Precious British Purrs kitten comes with the following:

  • Registered Pedigree Papers with ANCATS

  • Received it's 1st kitten vaccination

  • Neutered or spayed - Non negotiable

  • Microchipped

  • Vet checked - health certificate

  • Dewormed

  • Litter trained

  • Socialised

  • 6 weeks complimentary pet insurance

  • A welcome pack from us.

All our kittens, in addition to spending time with their mother and siblings, are exposed to a variety of sounds and environments to promote socialisation. This helps them grow into strong, confident and well adjusted cats. We strive to give all our kittens the best possible start in life so that they can carry their happy and outgoing personalities with them for their entire lifetime.

RESERVING A KITTEN

If you are interested in owning a Precious British Purrs kitten please let us know and we will add you to our waiting list. In order to ensure that our kittens go to the best possible homes, we may ask detailed questions about your home and other pets you may have. We give a tremendous amount of love and care to our kittens and we want to make sure they will be well cared for and loved in their new home. Please understand that our kittens are not just pets to us, they are part of the family.

When our kittens are born, we begin to reach out to the people on our waiting list at around 4 weeks of age to offer them the opportunity to choose one of the kittens or, if they have put down a certain preference (colour and or sex) we let them know if we have a kitten suiting that preference. This is also the time we start accepting deposits to hold a specific kitten. A non refundable deposit of $500 is required to secure your chosen kitten, this deposit will be applied to the final cost of the kitten. In order to ensure that everything is ready for your kittens arrival we ask that all payment towards the cost of the kitten be made two days prior to home pickup or any travel arrangements being finalised. To make this process easier for you, we accept a variety of payment methods, including EFTPOS. This means you can reserve and make all payments for your new family member using your card quickly and securely, without the need for cash. Please note, we DO NOT take deposits on unborn kittens.

As a reminder, it is important to bring a cat carrier when picking up your kitten from us. The safety and well being of the kitten during transportation is our top priority, and we will not release a kitten to their new home without a suitable carrier. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in ensuring the safe and comfortable transport of your new furry family member.

To help you stay connected with your new furry family member as they grow, we will send you photos of your kitten every week. We hope that this will help you feel even more excited and connected to your new kitten as you await their arrival.

Once you've welcomed a kitten from our cattery into your home, our relationship doesn't have to end there. We are always available to provide support and answer any questions you may have. Additionally, we would love to see updates and photos of your feline companion as they grow and thrive in their new home.

PREPARING FOR YOUR NEW KITTEN

Once you have secured your new furry family member by reserving a kitten, you will have roughly 10 weeks to prepare for their arrival. This provides you with approximately 2 months to get your home and life ready to welcome your new family member.

To ensure a smooth transition for both you and your kitten, it's important to have everything in order before their scheduled pickup or delivery. If your kitten will be traveling to you by air, make sure to plan ahead and be at the designated pickup location well before the scheduled arrival time. Make sure to have all necessary paperwork and proper identification on hand to ensure a successful transfer of ownership.

Start getting all your kitten supplies ready, below is a revised checklist to help you prepare for their arrival.

  • Bedding - Have a safe and comfortable sleeping area for your kitten, with multiple beds available for them to choose from.

  • Food + Water Bowls - Have two separate feeding bowls, one for wet food and the other for dry food, aswell as two water bowls placed in different areas of your home for easy access.

  • Quality Kitten Food - We recommend feeding your new family member highly quality kitten food like Royal Canin. Your kitten will be fed Royal Canin Mother and Babycat dry and wet food prior to going to their new home along with high quality human grade raw mince.

  • Litter Tray - While your new furry family member might be small, they will eventually grow into adult cats, so its best to choose a litter tray that will accommodate their adult size. Its also important.

  •  Litter - Your new family member has been accustomed to using a variety of different litter including Breeders Choice paper pellets, Tofu, Crystal and Clumping Clay.

  • Carrier - Purchase a solid and sturdy carrier that will accommodate your kitten as they grow. You have the option of purchasing one from us at the time of your kitten's home pickup.

  • Grooming Equipment - Obtain a brush, comb and nail clippers specifically designed for cats. Regular grooming will help keep your kitten's coat shiny and healthy

  • Scratch posts + Cat Trees - Provide multiple scratching posts and cat trees around the house, not too tall as the kitten can hurt themselves when jumping off. This will satisfy their natural scratching instincts and protect your furniture.

  • Toys - Select interactive toys that encourage your kitten to stalk, pounce and chase, this can also be a great way to bond with your new furry family member.

Overall, it's important to make sure that you are well prepared with all the necessary items before bringing your new kitten home.

Choosing a name for your new family member is also another exciting part. While they already have a registered name for their pedigree papers, don't feel limited by that. You have the freedom to give them a name of your own choosing. Take your time and have fun with it! Consider names that reflect their personality or physical characteristics or even a name that holds special meaning to you. The name you choose will be apart of their identity and you will be saying it for many years to come.
