Our kittens, in addition to spending crucial time with their mother and siblings, are exposed to a variety of sounds, environments, and daily household activities. This early socialisation ensures they grow into confident, well-adjusted cats, ready to thrive in their new homes. We take great care to provide each kitten with the best possible start in life, so they carry their happy and outgoing personalities with them for a lifetime.

RESERVING A KITTEN

Expressions of Interest

At Precious British Purrs, we take expressions of interest for kittens during the current breeding season only. Once the breeding season has ended, expressions of interest will pause and reopen at the start of the next breeding season. To increase your chances of being matched with a kitten, we ask that you list a minimum of three different colours. We understand that some people may have a preference for only one colour, but listing just one colour significantly limits your chances of being matched with a kitten. This is because it’s unpredictable when certain colours will be born, and some may not appear again for several seasons due to genetics. While we can make educated guesses about potential colours in a litter, we cannot guarantee specific colours.

Please understand that if other families have listed the same colour before you, they will be prioritised in line, and we are committed to respecting their preferences. If you are interested in a kitten during the breeding season, please contact us via the 'Contact' tab to express your interest.

Limited Paid Waiting List
For those who want more certainty, we offer a limited paid waiting list. This list is for families committed to welcoming a Precious British Purrs kitten. The waiting list carries over into the next breeding season if your preferences are not available during the current season.

To join this list, a non-refundable deposit of $200 is required, which will be deducted from the purchase price of your kitten. People on the paid waiting list will have first priority when kittens are available, ahead of those who have simply expressed interest during the current breeding season. This ensures that families who are ready to welcome a kitten immediately are given priority. We believe that staying on the paid waiting list only makes sense if you are ready and prepared to bring a kitten into your home when they are born and ready.

Available Kittens
We also encourage you to check the Available Kittens tab on our website to see which kittens are currently available for reservation. Once you see a kitten you are interested in, please contact us through the 'Contact' section of our website. When kittens are born, we first go through the paid waiting list, followed by those who have expressed interest for the season.
Once a kitten is matched, we will keep you updated on their progress.

Final Steps and Important Information
We kindly ask that all payments for your kitten be completed 7 days before pick-up or any travel arrangements. To make this process convenient for you, we offer a variety of payment methods, including EFTPOS, which are securely processed via our Square terminal.

Once a kitten is matched, we will keep you updated on their progress. When the kitten is around 3-4 weeks old and has passed the critical early stages, we will take a $500 non-refundable deposit to reserve the kitten. This deposit will be applied to the final cost of the kitten. If you are coming from our paid waiting list, only an additional $300 is required, as the $200 deposit you paid to join the waiting list is already applied to the total cost of the kitten. Please note that we do not take deposits on unborn kittens.

Our kittens leave neutered or spayed, and this is non-negotiable. If you're looking for a furry companion, this won’t be an issue. We have a fantastic vet who has neutered all of our kittens before they leave for their forever homes. Neutering at a young age is perfectly safe, and each kitten is thoroughly health-assessed by our vet before the procedure. Neutering has no effect on a kitten's growth, as growth is determined by genetics. Please do not ask if a kitten can leave our care unneutered, as our answer will always be no.

On rare occasions, we do sell a kitten to a registered breeder who follows the same values and ethics as we do. More information for breeders will be provided upon request.

When picking up your new kitten, please remember to bring a suitable cat carrier. The safety and well-being of your kitten during transportation is our top priority, and we will not release a kitten without a proper carrier.

To help you stay connected to your kitten as they grow, we will send you weekly photos until they are ready to join your family. We are always available for ongoing support and advice, and we love receiving updates and photos of your kitten as they thrive in their new home!
